I have come across a few of the same postings by one author. He always writes the same thing. Stacy Q Rocks! For those who lived in the 80's they get the joke. For everyone else some explanation is needed. Stacy Q was a one hit wonder in the 80's. She had one song that was seriously overplayed, "Two of Hearts."
Now I have no idea why someone would bother to write in truck stop restroom stalls, "Stacy Q Rocks!" All I can figure is that this guy must have a wicked sense of humor, or he really does like Stacy Q.
I just had to know... I'm a truck driver., and always see Stacey q rocks! Its written the same way too. Wow if its one Guy that's crazy always on the 10 or hwy 40.
ReplyDeleteLol. I'm in a stall in Stanton, TN on I-40 exit 42 right now, counting my blessings that the fart I was afraid to let go of, but finally did 5 foot from the stall was just that. A fart. I am sitting here now, even after reading this article, looking at a Stacey Q Rocks graffiti, and decided to google it and see what the heck it was all about. I wish the author would google his masterpiece and clue us in on who he is. Any women out there know if there is a Ms. Stacey Q Rocks? Wondering if its only in the men's restroom, or both. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI've seen it in several women's restrooms...Love's in Memphis, the Pilot in West Monroe, LA, the pilot in Dallas, several more places...crazy!
DeleteMy husband is a truck driver and just asked me to google "Stacy Q ROCKS" I found nothing. He said he has seen it written all the way up in Michigan too. He has also seen. "Sheila E Rocks " too. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteSame here as the above. I keep seeing Stacey Q Rocks, same hand writting, all over the place. My curiosity got the best of me on I-20, exit 104 pilot. I just had to know who the heck this was about.
ReplyDeleteThe Wonderer...I too like above was curious so I googled ..Same writing Stacey Q Rocks! Was written 8 times in back perm. ReplyDeleteFound in large stall in Pilot, Mt. Vernon, IL on I-57/I-64. I have seen it everywhere for the past couple of years, and finally had to Google it. Now that I know, I wish I didn't, because now I have "Two of Hearts" stuck in my head after years of trying to forget it!

DeleteHere at the flying hook off exit 732 stall one outside of Houston, Tx it is written everywhere you look.
ReplyDeleteSitting at the Tulip City Truck Stop in Holland, Mi and noticed it for the 4th or 5th time. Googled it and came here.
ReplyDeleteI'm in Carrollton GA at a Pilot and saw Stacy Q Rocks in the stall. Above it said Google: so I did. Wow talk about viral (social media slang) not a trucker but I will definitely keep my eye out now for Stacey Q Rocks! Just think what a biz could do with this type of Branding. Wonder if Stacey Q is getting ready for a comeback.
ReplyDeleteRyan's effingham, IL it's here too. Along with Sheena Easton Rocks, lol.
ReplyDeleteThe one here on 44 in Missouri actually says "google: stacey q rocks!". I guess the guy has gone high tech with his message. Anyway, I did, and that's how I ended up here
ReplyDeleteThat's wild. I wrote this particular blog post six years ago. I wonder if the graffiti artist decided to look up his own work on the internet, and found my post about him? That would be pretty funny if he did.
DeleteI personally never thought this little blog post of mine would get so many responses over the years. I am now at 577 blog posts, and this one, by far, has had the most replies. I'd have never of thought it would have.
Stopped at a pilot station off I-20 around exit 470 and seen this. Had to google it which brought me here.

ReplyDeleteIm on I70 in ohio and it is in every stall at the gomart truck stop before you enter West Virginia
ReplyDeleteHe has hit up Pennsylvania also, at a flying J somewhere in the southeast, off of 78. This dude is a promotions master, hands down.
ReplyDeleteMy years on the highway have a tale to tell.
ReplyDeleteStacey is honored everywhere from coast to coast.
But, oddly.. There are 3 distinct types of handwriting that can claim 95% of the "art".
The original prankster has block handwriting and favors the major truck stop chains mostly south of I-40.
The first copycat has loopy printing and can be found anywhere in the lower 48.
The second copycat tends to frequent rest areas and smaller independent lots. That is a rushed scribble that is barely legible.
Beyond that, others have left their own trails.
All use the same type of marker.
Probably a team or trainer and that is their inside joke like a dog tagging a hydrant.
A few years ago, I saw it written in dust on the back of a trailer rolling down the highway. (It was the loopy version).
Harmless entertainment. It gets a chuckle out of me every time.
Guy was a Driver for her on a short cincert tour... she was nice to him and the rest is history...
ReplyDelete( in otherwords. Everything before "the rest is history" is actually fiction.
DRIVE ON GUYS GALS... KEEP THE SHINEY SIDE UP.
